Dunmanway Town defeated Ardfield 3-0 in the West Cork Masters Shield sponsored by A Cut Above Salon final in Mohona last Friday night writes Ger McCarthy.
Dunmanway Town claimed the first silverware of the 2012 West Cork Masters campaign following a hard-fought victory over Ardfield. The Mohona club proved more clinical in front of goal with strikes either side of half time from Noel O'Donovan and Cathal Crowley laying the foundation for their deserved victory.
Ardfield threw everything at Dunmanway in the second period with Diarmuid Keohane going closest for the visiting side. A disciplined defensive effort anchored by a virtuoso goalkeeping display from Rob Oldham ensured Dunmanway kept a clean sheet before Kieran O'Leary's last minute effort completed the scoring.
