The following are the main points from the first meeting of the West Cork Masters tournament for the upcoming 2012 summer campaign. Meeting was held in Pascal O'Brien's in Rosscarbery on Thursday April 5th.
- 13 Members representing 9 of last years 11 Clubs were present
- Name / title of League is to be changed to "West Cork Masters". Anything to do with the League will now have this name attached going forward i.e newspaper articles, website, Facebook site
- Personal and/or Club Insurance continues same as before, Players/Clubs own decision whether they take out same or not. Public Liability: Same as last 3 Seasons - No Team will be allowed to enter the Tournament until PL details are sent to Mike Burgoyne, WCL.
- There will be a change on this years Registration form. Included this year will be an added condition that any Player signing the form is agreeing & allowing at any time for the League to request a Copy of suitable identification i.e Birth Cert, passport, drivers license. Failure to produce this after having signed an agreement will result in immediate expulsion of your team.
- Deadline for any new club wishing to joining the Masters tournaments will appear in Thursday April 12th edition of the Southern Star - deadline is Sat April 21st.
- First set of fixtures will be issued by May 1st
- Season should kick off on first Wed in June, will continue to be Wed nights, 7.30pm (Cup games 7pm). However on second week in June, games will be brought back to Tuesday night as Ireland play Spain in Euro 2012 on the Wed.
- First Round of Cup/Shield will be drawn at Ardfield's first League game by member of Ardfield's opposition on the night!
