New Masters Season Information

Just a quick post to rubber-stamp all the Rules & Regs before the new season begins plus informing our two new Members reg League set-up.

We've lost Courtmac which is a shame, i'd say Neil found it hard getting the troops out last year. Just want to say a big thanks to Neil, a pleasure to deal with on & off of the pitch! Also a big welcome to our two new Members, Bay Rovers & Castlelack!

THE BASICS

Just a quick run-down of any queries/rules that may need clarification before a ball is kicked!

* Players have to be aged 33 years old or older on date of match that they are playing!
If Ardfield are due to play on July 2nd & if Noel doesn't turn 33 until the day after, tough luck, we'll see him next week!

* Games are 30 mins a half (2 x 10 min periods in event of Cup games going into e/t).
No problem going straight to pens if both Clubs & Ref agrees to same before Kick-Off.

* Games kick-off at 7.30pm sharp!

* The basic rules are those that are covered by the FAI, MSL & WCL on the WCL web-site eg footballs, line-markings, goal-nets etc!

* Our League is not a thrown-together kick-around so Clubs are to adhere to uniformed kit!
Jerseys have to be numbered! Bibs are not acceptable!

TWO DIVISIONS

* As we are splitting into two Divisions for the coming season, games have been spilt into two nights to accomodate Referee's
I appreciate that this doesn't suit everybody (myself included) but nothing can be done reg same. Every Team has been given five Tuesdays & five Wednesdays. I hope everybody understands why this has been changed!
* If a Team wishes to bring their game forward to the previous Saturday, Sunday or Monday, League has no problem with this but Team has to sort this with opposition firstl before contacting me (Noel). I won't be sorting it for ye! Once both Teams are in agreement, i can then sort Ref!

* Clubs are to text both Ger McCarthy & myself on night of match!
Ger will be onto ye in due course reg what details he needs! Please assist Ger as he does tireless work for the League - the West Cork Masters website is second to none & the coverage in the Southern Star is always nice to see on a Thursday!

* I'll be texting every Club reg two Club contacts, pitch directions & Team colours within the week!

* Refs fees are €35.per match. This has to be paid to Referee before Match.

* 3 Yellows = 1 game suspension which i will notify ye of via SMS.
There is a change in Red Card/Suspension procedure which i'm not sure of yet, i'll be onto Mike Burgoyne , WCL reg same & will let ye know asap.

* Kicking-tees were suggested but most voters voted against same!

RE-SCHEDULING OF GAMES

* The big change to this Season is the automatic re-scheduling of Games to the following week!
Last Season due to the weather, we had to cancel at least one Game which clogged up an already messed-up fixture list. Obviously, none of the Clubs could help this. Unfortunately, we also had to defer two Games due to bereavements. Again a no-brainer, Games had to be called off!

This year i will contact ye via SMS to let ye know of Automatic re-scheduling
so eg Week One - Team A vs Team B: Team A have to postpone their Game due to one of the above.
Their game will automatically be deferred to the following Monday with their scheduled Game for this week switched to the Thursday. So two games in the week for both Team A & Team B plus their opposition on Week Two have to switch to Thursday also.

Please give me a call on 087 2399737 if i haven't explained this clearly. If ye don't call me i will presume that ye are ok with it!

* A copy of your Public Liability Insurance has to be shown & ok'd with Michael Burgoyne before a ball is kicked!

* New Clubs pay an affiliation fee of €100.for the first two years, existing Clubs play €50.
* Finally (i say this every year), please respect our Referees! I got 4/5 Refs reports last year & their reports on certain incidents weren't very nice to say the least! Please remember that if they decide to pull the plug tomorrow then the League is finished.
* Cup draw will take place after Ross vs Ardfield in Carrigroe on Week Two
Please text/call/e-mail me if any queries
Thanks,
Noel
